Out of all the writers, I had always had a hard time reading his work. I had to read The Raven for my English class in highschool. For some reason, it haunted me for a long time.
Excellent job, Halina, of telling the story of an artist with a troubled past. So many of the great artist suffered lives that were full of challenges and emotional pain. Poe is one of my favorite writers. His work fascinates me in its depth of emotion. Thank you for sharing these interesting back stories of artists that we have known for years through their work. Poe always seemed a bit of a tortured soul to me. Gifted to be sure, but quite dark at times.
