Golden era of film…noir
I have always had a passion for old movies… vintage film noir, they call it the Golden Era of film, which started during the Great Depression the late 1920s thru the early 60s.The beginning of the talkies and the end of the silent movie era.
It was a time when many movie stars where at there peak and many classic movies where released.
There where 5 studios, they created stars like Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland and so many others, it wasn’t easy being an actress, actor at the time, they had huge contracts to adhere to that’s why when we look at them they look pretty damn perfect 😂😂the movie studios pretty much controlled their lives as far as who they can or cannot Marry, or if they are allowed to have children or not. Crazy!
The movies where atmospheric, romantic and mysterious. The actresses where beautiful and classic and the actors where handsome and where gentlemen.
There where so many wonderful movies from that era all of Alfred Hitchcock, Humphrey Bogart in Sabrina, Casablanca, the Africa Queen, etc etc I could go on.
The two I’m going to recommend only because one is probably the best love story I’ve ever
seen next to Wuthering Heights and that is Random Harvest and the other would be The Stranger for it’s film noir.
Random Harvest.. is about a World War 1 vet who has amnesia and falls in love with a music hall star and marries her only to suffer another accident that restores his original memories and erases his past post war life and the woman he loved 🥲 yes you will cry but as old movies go it’s a happy ending. The other Orion Welles The Stranger which I will post here.

I enjoyed reading that little bit of film history.. Thank you for sharing that some things I was not aware of of . I have seen some of those movies but I'm ashamed to say that I have never seen gone with the wind which was a very popular movie.
Nice piece of writing . I love old movies as well . 🙏💜
