Illinois
So many places to visit
Illinois has been getting a bad rap as of late, so I’m going to give the state that has been my home for most of my life some due credit it deserves. All the beauty it has to offer, let alone cultural sites.
Illinois is home to some of the most beautiful state parks, botanical gardens and quaint towns etc in the Midwest, let alone our beautiful lakefront skyline of the city of Chicago.
Besides our beautiful lakefront we have one of the best art museums in the world The Art Institute of Chicago we have theater row, next to broadway we’re the best in theater, there’s the Lyric opera house, the Chicago symphony. We have a diverse culture,
which makes us lucky and have some of the best restaurants and diversity of food choices and markets. We have shopping along Michigan avenue, Tiffany’s , Chanel etc let alone mnllineual park with the Bean and some of the oldest architectural sites that have been historically preserved as far as buildings go.and if this is not your thing start traveling out of the city, west, northwest, south you are bound to find a quaint town or a beautiful state park on your destination. Just to name a few Galena Illinois home to Civil War President Grant, let alone wineries along the Illinois valley region, Starved Rock State Park with all its beautiful canyons and hiking trails best in the fall. The Mississippi palisades state park along the beautiful Mississippi River, there’s Anderson’s Japanese Gardens unbelievable beauty as well as our Botanical Garden I could go on.
Politics as they are should never interfere with visiting a place of beauty.

Galena has always been a favorite of mine. I haven’t been there for a few years, but hope to visit soon!! Thanks for reminding me of my memories there! Blessings ~~~
